Job summary

Vital Research in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking Field Interviewers as independent contractors to conduct in-person and phone interviews for our PACE survey projects.

The role begins with hybrid training the week of August 31, followed by 2–3 weeks of in-person interviewing and ongoing phone duties across Ohio. Hours vary; compensation includes hourly pay for in-person work, travel time, and phone interviews.

Qualifications

• Comfort interacting with older adults and sensitivity to disability/illness.
• Strong organization and time management; communicate via email and phone.
• Proficient with email, uploading/downloading files, and troubleshooting.
• Personal computer with access to view/modify MS Excel and internet.
• Personal phone and reliable wireless Internet.
• Ability to read, type, and record responses accurately.
• Ability to follow confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
• Adhere to business casual dress code and other personal requirements.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver\'s license/insurance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 10–20 minute interviews with participants in person or by phone.
• Be punctual, work independently, and remain unbiased during interviews.
• Keep organized records and update the Vital Research team daily.
• Build positive relationships and address customer feedback.
• Use company-issued tablet for in-person interviews in a private setting.
• Contact Vital Research via personal phone and email regularly.
• Comply with confidentiality and HIPAA data security requirements.
• Avail between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm; hours may vary.

Job description

Vital Research is seeking Field Interviewers in Cleveland, Ohio, to serve as independent contractors to conduct in-person interviews and phone interviews with older adults in our PACE survey projects that aim to improve participant satisfaction. This project will start with mandatory hybrid training the week of August 31st, where Field Interviewers receive instructions on how to conduct interviews. The in-person responsibilities of the project will require 2 to 3 weeks of in-person interviewing and will continue with additional phone interviewing responsibilities. Once interviewers successfully pass training, they become part of a team responsible for interviewing throughout the state of Ohio. Work during the project may not be continuous, depending on the availability of interview assignments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 10-20 minute interviews with participants both in person and over the phone.
• Be punctual, work independently, and remain unbiased when conducting interviews.
• Keep organized records of interviews and update the Vital Research team daily (e.g., completed interviews and refusals, etc.).
• Build positive relationships with customers and comprehend customer feedback.
• Using company issued tablet device to conduct 10-15 minute in-person interviews in an atmosphere of privacy.
• Utilize personal cell phone and email address to regularly be in touch with Vital Research.
• Comply with confidentiality, federal HIPAA regulations, and adhere to data security requirements.
• Be available between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm during assignments. Actual hours worked will vary.

Requirements

• Comfort interacting with older adults and demonstrating concern and sensitivity to issues of disability, illness, and communication challenges.
• Strong organization, time management, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate skillfully and in a timely manner via email and phone.
• Proficient with email, uploading/downloading files, Internet use, and troubleshooting possible technical glitches.
• Personal computer (or other selected devices) with access to view and modify MS Excel and access the internet.
• A personal phone and reliable wireless Internet.
• Ability to read, type, and record responses accurately.
• Ability to follow structured protocols to comply with confidentiality and federal HIPAA regulations.
• Adhere to a business casual dress code and other personal requirements.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver's license/automobile insurance.

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with older adults, nursing homes, assisted living, or adult daycare centers preferred.
• Interviewing experience preferred.

Compensation

• $24.00 per hour for in-person work
• $12.00 per hour paid travel time
• $11.50 per completed phone interview
• Mileage and other reimbursements are also included
