Job summary

Aalis Management Consulting seeks a Federal Public Comment Data Analyst to support federal regulatory and public-comment activities. You will help with high-volume comment review, coding, categorization, issue identification, summaries, and quantitative analysis using Excel and Word.

Direct federal public-comment experience is preferred; transferable skills from regulatory/policy analysis, legal research, or data analysis will be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public policy, political science, government, or related field.
• 2+ years of analytical, regulatory, policy, or data support experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle large information volumes.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze large volumes of public comments and related information.
• Download, organize, track, and maintain comment records and data.
• Categorize and code comments using established methodologies.
• Identify key issues, themes, trends, and recurring concerns.
• Prepare concise summaries of individual and grouped comments.
• Support quantitative analysis of comment volume and categories.
• Maintain Excel-based tracking and analytical tools.
• Develop tables, charts, summaries, and other user-friendly outputs.
• Perform data entry, validation, quality checks, and reconciliation.
• Identify missing or inconsistent information.
• Support development of comment matrices and analytic reports.
• Assist senior analysts with regulatory and policy research.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation.
• Support QA/QC activities and resolve data issues.
• Meet production, quality, and schedule requirements.
• Communicate questions, issues, and risks to project leadership.
