Job summary

MatlenSilver is actively recruiting for a Network Engineer to support our client’s global traffic management infrastructure from Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX, or Chandler, AZ. The role focuses on F5 Load Balancing and daily operations, handling incidents and collaborating with multiple teams to ensure service reliability.

The ideal candidate has extensive load balancing experience, ITIL-aligned processes, and strong scripting skills (Python, Bash).

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of Load Balancing and Network Engineering experience.
• Experience in Incident support, including managing high severity incidents and incident triage with network teams and vendors.
• Excellent customer-facing communication skills and knowledge of ITIL best practices.
• Minimum 3 years of F5 LTM and GTM experience.
• 1 or more years of F5 APM and ASM experience.
• 1 or more years of AVI/VMware experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot advanced networking issues in a complex environment with knowledge of BGP, HTTPS, TCP/IP, and SSL.
• Python development experience and, at a minimum, Bash scripting experience.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across teams to design complex configurations.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming incident tickets in the service management tool to provide operations support and triage to restore service per SLAs.
• Create and modify configuration changes required to restore service on incidents following Change Management procedures.
• Provide resolution for Traffic Management incidents including network-level troubleshooting, vendor engagement, escalation, and documentation.
• Work with Problem Management on root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, and client teams on core configuration design standards and impact assessment.
• Document, monitor, troubleshoot, and evaluate network and infrastructure systems to resolve incidents.
• Provide implementation support to other suppliers and client teams as needed.
• Ensure new systems are monitored with alarms and ticketing; update monitoring systems promptly.
