Job summary

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) in Hartford, CT seeks an Environmental Analyst 1 to support the Corrective Action Unit (CAU) with remediation oversight, regulatory compliance, and technical guidance. You will track emergent releases, review investigation plans, and provide essential support to DEEP programs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience involving technical analysis and interpretation of environmental program data.
• Education may substitute for up to five years of General Experience as described in the substitutions section.
• Experience interpreting federal or state policies, regulations, or laws regarding RBCRs, release reporting, cleanup standards and related areas.

Responsibilities

• Assist in review and oversight of investigation and remediation of Emergent Reportable Releases including PCBs, oil, PFAS, and LE release from UST systems.
• Evaluate compliance reports and documents submitted in enforcement actions and remedial cleanup requirements.
• Provide technical consultation to public, municipal, regional, state, and federal officials and the public.
• Assist in drafting regulations, statutes, guidelines and other written materials.
