Job summary

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) seeks an Environmental Analyst 1 for the Corrective Action Unit in Hartford. This hybrid, full-time role offers on-the-job training in release cleanup regulations and remediation of emergent reportable releases.

You will review investigation and cleanup plans, track releases, evaluate compliance with environmental statutes, and provide technical support to the public and to municipal, regional, state, and federal partners.

Qualifications

Experience or training in environmental investigation and cleanup.
Familiarity with state environmental regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

Track Emergent Reportable Releases in REACT and coordinate remediation.
Review investigation and remediation plans for PCBs, PFAS, oil, and UST releases.
Evaluate compliance with environmental statutes and written guidance.
Review enforcement-related reports and documents for remediation actions.
Provide technical assistance to the public and regulated community.
Offer technical consultation to municipal, regional, state, and federal officials and the public.
Maintain and disseminate information via the department's databases.
Assist in drafting new regulations, statutes, and guidelines.
