Job summary

Kosmos Group is seeking an entry-level Transmission Line Engineer in its Los Angeles office. The hybrid role requires 3 days in the office and 2 days from home, supporting transmission line routing, design, and project documentation.

You’ll work under senior staff to model lines with PLS-CADD/PLS-Pole, perform calculations for conductors and structures, and help prepare construction drawings and procurement criteria. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Previous internship in engineering.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel).
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

• Route and design transmission/distribution lines using PLS-CADD.
• Model and analyze lines and poles with PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE.
• Perform conductor selection, structure loading, sag and tension calculations.
• Develop design criteria and procurement specifications.
• Prepare plan and profile drawings and construction documents.
• Respond to RFIs and design inquiries.
• Maintain project documentation and records.
• Ensure adherence to company design practices.
• Assist with estimates and quality control.
