Job summary

Degenkolb Engineers is reviewing candidates for an Entry-Level Structural Engineer | Designer in our Los Angeles, Oakland, and Sacramento offices with fall start dates. This training-focused role prepares you for the Professional Engineering licensing exam.

Ideal candidates are high-achieving master's students, GPA 3.40+, eager to grow in seismic analysis and steel design within a collaborative team and flexible hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

  • MS in Structural Engineering preferred or BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis and 1–2 years of relevant, post-degree experience.
  • Undergraduate GPA 3.40 or higher.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
  • Unofficial Undergraduate and Graduate transcript submission.

Responsibilities

  • Review architectural and structural drawings to provide design and analysis.
  • Prepare engineering calculation packages with assumptions and narrative to justify design methodology.
  • Assist in solving client construction challenges by coordinating with other disciplines, responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and performing construction engineering.
  • Gain exposure to new concepts in construction.
