Job summary

Tighe & Bond, Inc. is seeking an Entry Level Staff Engineer to join our Structural Building Design Team in Westfield or Sandwich, MA, with options across South Harwich and Westwood. You will assist in delivering structural design for diverse projects across the Northeast in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

Required FE/EIT readiness, basic structural software proficiency, and strong communication. Bachelor’s in Structural/Civil Eng is expected, with Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural
• Passed FE Exam and obtained EIT certification, or plan to by June 2027
• Familiarity with structural analysis concepts, software, or internships in structural design/consulting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Eagerness to learn, self-motivated, organized

Responsibilities

• Support the structural design of vertical construction projects under senior guidance
• Assist in developing designs using steel, concrete, masonry, and wood per codes
• Contribute to structural drawings, reports, specs, and calculations using software like Revit, AutoCAD, and analysis programs
• Observe construction, assist in construction admin, review submittals, respond to contractor questions, perform field surveys
• Participate in QA through peer reviews and deliverable checklists
