Job summary

Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) seeks a district operations-minded professional to advise, plan, and design engineering/operational plans aimed at optimizing efficiency across facilities. You will monitor adherence to plans, conduct root-cause analyses, and support management in implementation and training efforts identified for the district.

The role requires extensive travel (up to 75%), strong knowledge of dock systems, and the ability to forecast labor needs, develop cost-saving labor

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math.
• An equivalency of four (4) additional years' experience in the areas below + minimum required experience with a high school diploma/GED or unrelated Bachelor's degree.
• Experience in the transportation industry in a relevant operations management role OR Industrial Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a change agent throughout the District to influence management decisions and optimize engineering/operational plans.
• Identify facility inefficiencies through root cause analysis and provide on-site solutions for improvements.
• Advise and facilitate team knowledge and optimal application of dock operational systems and related corrective actions.
• Create Network Alignment Plans and determine capacity planning for full facility use.
• Forecast labor and project manning needs; oversee district changes and expansions.
• Provide material handling project recommendations with financial analysis for facility expansions.
• Travel up to 75% and perform cost justification analyses.
