Job summary

Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects in Houston seeks a Scheduling Specialist to manage daily transportation and product movement for fuels, crude oil, and other bulk liquids onsite. You will coordinate nominations, monitor inventories, resolve issues, and support traders and terminals.

With 3–5 years in transport scheduling and a Bachelor’s degree preferred, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced energy logistics environment; 12-month contract with possible extension and some in-person client

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in transportation scheduling, energy logistics, terminal operations, supply coordination, inventory planning, or related operational function
  • Experience supporting bulk liquids, refining, fuels, chemicals, pipelines, rail transportation, or comparable industrial supply chain operations
  • Familiarity with scheduling deadlines, nominations, inventory monitoring, and issue resolution in a changing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication with attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and MS Office applications
  • Ability to work on-site in Houston and support US Central Time business hours

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily transportation and product movement schedules for fuels, crude oil, NGLs, refined products, ethanol, or other bulk liquids
  • Submit, update, and monitor pipeline nominations within scheduling cycles and deadlines
  • Coordinate movements across pipelines, rail, terminals, refineries, storage facilities, and limited truck operations
  • Monitor inventory positions, planned receipts, deliveries, and constraints affecting supply continuity
  • Compare scheduled activity with actual movements and resolve volume, timing, or location discrepancies
  • Communicate schedule changes and operating issues to traders, optimizers, terminals, carriers, and other stakeholders
  • Support responses to pipeline interruptions, terminal constraints, inventory shortages, late deliveries, and other operational exceptions
  • Maintain scheduling records, confirmations, movement documentation, and system updates
  • Follow applicable agreements, regulatory obligations, operating procedures, and internal controls
  • Elevate material risks to senior schedulers and commercial stakeholders
  • Identify recurring scheduling problems and recommend practical workflow improvements
  • Participate in coverage planning and knowledge-sharing across the scheduling team
