Job summary

2KB Energy Services is an Atlanta-based energy management and sustainability firm seeking an Energy Analyst to support technical energy and decarbonization services for diverse clients. You will perform audits, analyze data, and develop actionable recommendations balancing sustainability with fiscal responsibility.

This role blends field work, data analysis, and client-facing problem solving in a small-business environment, with opportunities to grow and pursue certifications such as CEM or LEED.

Qualifications

• ASHRAE Level 1/2 energy audits experience.
• Familiarity with M&V methodologies (IPMVP) and savings calculations.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with strong quantitative skills.
• 2–5 years of professional experience in energy, building performance, sustainability, or a closely related field.
• Solid understanding of HVAC, lighting, controls, and energy fundamentals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis, including formulas and charts.
• Experience with at least one of ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, eQuest, RETScreen, ArcGIS, or Power BI.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a small business environment.
• Willingness to travel up to ~10% for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Perform energy audits for public, commercial, and industrial facilities, including site visits and data collection.
• Analyze utility data to develop baselines, identify trends, and quantify savings from energy measures.
• Develop energy models using eQuest and RETScreen to evaluate strategies.
• Prepare audit reports, memoranda, and proposals translating analysis into client-ready recommendations.
• Build dashboards/visualizations (Excel, Power BI) to communicate performance and impacts.
• Support M&V of projects, including data analysis and savings calculations.
• Research policies, incentives, technologies, and best practices related to energy efficiency.
• Maintain building performance data in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and ArcGIS.
• Assist with client deliverables and presentations, tailoring messages to audiences.
• Contribute to internal templates and knowledge sharing in a small team.
