Job summary

Xcelo Group in Mossville, IL is seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Validation / Quality Engineer with 5–7 years to lead hardware/software integration testing for heavy equipment safety features. Hybrid contract, office/lab based, with hands-on HIL bench testing and CMS validation.

You will develop test plans, analyze logs, and report validation evidence using Azure DevOps, with strong CAN/J1939 and Ethernet/TCP-IP expertise.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's with 4+ years considered).
5–7 years of hands-on embedded systems validation, testing, and quality engineering.
Strong expertise in test plans, test cases, and verification & validation workflows.
Proven hardware/software/system integration testing and troubleshooting.
Deep knowledge of CAN/J1939, Ethernet, and TCP/IP protocols.
Hands-on with HIL bench testing and lab equipment.
Experience using Azure DevOps for defect tracking and project management.
Python scripting for test automation and log analysis.
Eligible for hybrid Mossville, IL contract (USC, GC, GC-EAD, H4-EAD, OPT-EAD, STEM-OPT).

Responsibilities

Develop and execute validation plans, test cases, and procedures for embedded software and safety features.
Validate CMS and object detection for heavy equipment machinery.
Review requirements to design traceable verification and validation workflows.
Perform bench-level, HIL, and machine-level testing in lab and field.
Analyze logs, test data, and dynamic behavior to isolate anomalies.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network integration issues (CAN, J1939, Ethernet, TCP/IP).
Triage defects and perform root-cause analysis using Azure DevOps.
Validate embedded controllers, sensors, and machine-level integrations.
Prepare test reports and validation evidence for stakeholders.
Collaborate with software/hardware/systems teams in Mossville, IL.
