dormakaba is seeking an Embedded Hardware Systems Engineer based in San Jose, CA (Hybrid). This role supports firmware development and hardware implementation for access control products, sustaining engineering and validation of new hardware platforms.

Base salary range is $130,000 - $150,000; compensation depends on education, experience, and market alignment. Benefits information is available on the career site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in embedded hardware engineering.
• Proficient in embedded C/C++ development, firmware debugging, and sustaining engineering.
• Experience with hardware integration activities including PCB bring-up and system-level debugging.
• Familiarity with schematics and PCB design principles; RF tech such as NFC/BLE.

Responsibilities

• Develop, debug, and sustain embedded firmware modules for access control products.
• Support hardware bring-up, PCB validation, and debug with external design partners.
• Conduct hardware validation and system-level testing with lab instrumentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for NPI transitions and validation activities.
• Work with schematics/PCB design and RF technologies (NFC, BLE).
