Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Houston is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to lead the design, modification, and upgrade of power plant electrical systems. The role involves directing a project team and delivering deliverables such as cable schedules, grounding layouts, and equipment layouts.

You will supervise staff, develop project scopes and budgets, and coordinate with discipline leads. The position supports a hybrid work arrangement and emphasizes collaboration across engineering teams while

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in drafting or equivalent technical design experience.
• 15+ years of detailed physical design experience in grounding layouts, underground duct banks, and electrical layouts.
• Experience reviewing electrical physical layout drawings and interface points.
• Produce physical construction layout drawings.
• Extensive Microstation and AutoCAD design experience on power plants or large facilities.

Responsibilities

• Review, supervise and provide technical guidance in the production of design deliverables (cable schedules, grounding layouts, raceway layouts, lighting layouts).
• Lead multiple teams across multiple projects and coordinate with project management and discipline leads.
• Develop, monitor and control project costs and schedules; establish project scopes, budgets and schedules.
• Lead field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities.
• Oversee staff assignments and career development for assigned personnel.
