Job summary

As Powertrain Architect, you will size and evaluate hybrid-electric propulsion, integrate battery behavior, and contribute models to Archer's vehicle sizing stack.

You will collaborate with Vehicle and Structures Architects, handle motor/generator sizing, thermal management, and duty-cycle analysis, and support packaging

Qualifications

• Background in hybrid-electric propulsion or similar high-power systems.
• Experience with multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO).
• Proficiency in motor/generator sizing, thermal management, or battery modeling.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and trade powertrain architectures and integration.
• Size motors/generators from first principles and validate with solvers.
• Size thermal management for all major components.
• Generate performance and efficiency maps for powertrain elements.
• Model battery charge/discharge behavior for sizing decisions.
• Build powertrain models for vehicle-level sizing and prediction.
• Collaborate on packaging, weight, and integration with other teams.
