Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking an Electric Operations Supervisor for our Fernandina Beach, FL area. The role provides leadership for construction, operation, maintenance and emergency restoration of electric distribution and transmission systems, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Engineering preferred) and at least five years of related experience, including supervisory duties.

Qualifications

• Five years of related experience required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
• Ability to motivate, develop and direct people.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Sets safety expectations and resolves safety issues in a timely manner.
• Assists in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
• Ensures adherence to local union contracts and resolves grievances promptly.
• Prepares, reviews, and approves time, expenses, and materials records.
• Develops relationships with other electric utilities, agencies, and vendors.
• Maintains a safe work environment and positive morale among staff (union and non-union).
• Models a customer-first attitude to resolve issues collaboratively.
• Promotes company recognition in the community through activities and events.
• Ensures job packages are construction-ready and materials meet schedules.
• Maintains fleet vehicles and ensures inspections and certifications are current.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager, Electric Operations.
• Engages in civic or charitable volunteer activities.
