Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to support our California locations with hybrid work options. The role involves developing HSE plans, enforcing safety standards, conducting site visits, and providing expert guidance on compliance and risk reduction.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's in safety/science, 5+ years of HSE experience, and progress toward CIH or CSP. A valid US driver’s license and Cal/OSHA familiarity are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, science, or related discipline (required).
• Possesses or working towards CIH or CSP accreditation, to be completed within one year of hire (required).

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and deploying project-specific HSE plans and documentation.
• Implement HSE program components for Geosyntec and facilities.
• Communicate contract safety language to subcontractors and project teams.
• Identify and mitigate office and project site HSE hazards.
• Provide on-site technical support, site visits, and audits.
• Deliver HSE training to meet stakeholder requirements.
• Assist investigations of incidents and non-conformances.
• Promote office safety and emergency readiness.
• Conduct ergonomic risk assessments and recommend corrective actions.
• Support Corporate HSE programs and participate in professional activities.
