Job summary

National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) is seeking an Editor I to join its test materials development team in Philadelphia. The editor will work with volunteer subject matter experts to create and assemble content used to evaluate health professionals at various education stages.

The role is hybrid, with on-site work 2–3 days per month and potential relocation within 50 miles of the Philadelphia office. Onsite interviews may be required for planning and onboarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 1+ years of related experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills.

Responsibilities

• Edit test questions for grammar, clarity, and content accuracy.
• Cofacilitate SME meetings, recording decisions and edits.
• Assemble test forms and coordinate reviews with SMEs.
• Maintain test question banks and metadata in CMS.
• Publish examinations and ancillary materials for web delivery.
• Provide guidance to editorial production staff and support/test development teams.
• Support project schedules, style guides, and documentation.
