Job summary

R.E. Mason & Associates, Inc. is seeking a skilled Hardware Engineer to design and document hardware systems for industrial and building automation projects. You will coordinate with vendors and fabrication partners, develop panel layouts, and define I/O requirements.

The role requires strong electrical design expertise, experience with AutoCAD Electrical, and the ability to communicate effectively with teams. This is a hybrid role with three days in the office and two days remote.

Qualifications

Two-year technical associate degree in electrical engineering or equivalent certification.
Minimum of three years of relevant facilities experience in a manufacturing environment with control systems.
United States Citizen with valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Participate in regular project coordination meetings with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
Collaborate on prefabrication activities to ensure designs are ready for efficient build and installation.
Design control system panel hardware layouts and develop a bill of materials.
Design control system panel electrical circuits including AC and DC power circuits and sizing.
Define and manage I/O requirements for control systems.
Generate and maintain I/O tables for all project phases.
Create equipment datasheets and maintain documentation.
Develop and maintain register mapping for field equipment communicating to PLCs.
Use AutoCAD Electrical to create floor plans, system diagrams, control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and sequence of operations.
Provide installation details and design communications network architecture.
