Job summary

Optimal in Dearborn, MI is seeking a hands-on Engineer to join the Engine Performance Development team. The role focuses on validating engine attributes using design thinking and real hardware testing with engine dynamometers to support performance, durability, and regulatory attributes.

You will design test plans, collect data, and work with cross-functional teams to present findings and ensure accurate engine performance documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience with engine testing and instrumentation is preferred.
• Familiarity with data processing tools, combustion data analysis, and engine controls and calibration.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test plans to validate engine attributes
• Work with cross functional groups to execute test plans
• Prepare test data for presentations to various cross functional team members
• Review Test plans and execute testing to support engine performance development. Testing done to validate engine attributes for combustion, mechanical function and engine durability
