Job summary

TAPCO in Brown Deer, WI seeks a Divisional Controller to lead financial reporting, accounting operations, and compliance for the TAPCO division. You will oversee month-end and year-end close, ensuring GAAP accuracy and timeliness.

You will manage treasury, tax, controls, and audit readiness while mentoring a high-performing team and leveraging automation and AI tools to drive efficiency and better decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 7+ years progressive accounting with leadership responsibility.
• Experience in manufacturing environments required.
• Experience with software, SaaS, subscription, or ASC 606 revenue recognition preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements.
• Advanced Excel, ERP, reporting, and financial systems proficiency.
• Curiosity and willingness to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance accounting operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Oversee treasury operations, debt accounting, payroll accounting, and fixed assets.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition and balance sheet integrity.
• Analyze financial results and resolve accounting issues.
• Oversee sales and use tax compliance activities.
• Execute and monitor internal accounting controls.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and support external audits.
• Drive remediation and continuous improvement of control processes.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability for direct reports.
• Establish clear expectations and measurable goals.
• Develop team capabilities through cross-training and professional development.
