Job summary

The University of Michigan's Equity, Civil Rights & Title IX Office (ECRT) seeks a Digital Accessibility Specialist Intermediate to support accessibility initiatives across campus. This role reviews third‑party technologies for accessibility, assists with procurement, and helps develop services and resources under VPATs and WCAG 2.1, delivering training as needed.

Reporting to the Associate Director within the Disability Equity Office, the position is hybrid, with a two-year term.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 1–3 years of digital accessibility experience.
• Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and accessibility reviewing processes.
• Experience reviewing VPATs and documenting accessibility conformance.
• Ability to develop services, resources and workflows to support delivery.
• Strong communication, discretion with sensitive information, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial guidance on digital accessibility requests (40%).
• Support procurement by gathering information and reviewing conformance docs.
• Draft findings and recommendations from reviews and liaise with stakeholders.
• Maintain DEO case and project management records and develop new services.
• Deliver digital accessibility training and create self-service materials.
