Job summary

FSR, LLC. is seeking an experienced DevSecOps / Platform Engineer to build secure AWS environments, automate releases, and own production pipelines for a DoD-focused engagement in the Washington, DC area.

You will collaborate with engineers and data scientists to implement IaC with CloudFormation/AWS CDK, run CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and ensure least-privilege security. This full-time W-2 role requires US citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of DevSecOps or platform engineering experience.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, cybersecurity, engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on AWS administration across compute, storage, networking, and IAM.
• Infrastructure-as-code with CloudFormation or AWS CDK.
• CI/CD automation with security gates using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
• Hands-on Docker image creation and containerization.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to write and troubleshoot Python and Bash scripts.
• Understanding of least-privilege access, zero trust, secure config, and controlled deployments.
• Experience with Git, monitoring, and logging.

Responsibilities

• Build secure delivery pipelines: CI/CD workflows for infra validation, tests, security checks, deployment, and promotion.
• Automate AWS infrastructure: Create and maintain CloudFormation templates or CDK.
• Manage Linux environments: Build AMIs, software installation, patching, and validation.
• Integrate enterprise platforms: Support SageMaker, Posit Connect, and EC2-based Linux environments.
• Configure cloud resources: Manage networking, permissions, storage, and compute under security policies.
• Troubleshoot deployment failures, connectivity, and runtime issues.
• Improve release reliability: Automate recurring tasks, health checks, and rollback procedures.
• Own changes: participate in code reviews, test infra changes, verify deployments, and runbooks.
