Job summary

Dark Wolf seeks a Mid-Level DevSecOps SME / Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to join a collaborative, fast-paced mission team. The role involves security engineering, risk management, and compliance across containerized apps and cloud architectures (AWS/GCP).

You will work with customer teams and external contractors in a hybrid setting in VA or CO. The candidate should have 5+ years in IT security/DevSecOps, hands-on Kubernetes/container experience, and a DHS/DoD-aligned mindset.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT security, information assurance, or DevSecOps experience.
• Proficiency in a scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Go) with emphasis on automation and REST APIs.
• Experience working with customers to improve cyber security posture.
• Experience authoring and maintaining security documentation and hardening configurations for modern cloud environments.
• Knowledge of DISA STIGs and secure software deployment in Kubernetes environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical evaluations of information systems, containerized apps, and cloud architectures (AWS or GCP) with security considerations.
• Perform vulnerability assessments using automated tools including SonarQube, Snyk, NeuVector, and OWASP ZAP.
• Review software installation requests and perform risk assessments in Kubernetes environments.
• Coordinate security action requests and report status to senior managers using GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, GitLab CI/CD).
• Maintain client certification to field security approvals (continuous ATO) with automated Ansible playbooks and hardened Dockerfiles.
• Analyze auditing requirements and monitor logging/metrics with Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Tempo, and Alloy.
• Enforce zero-trust architectures and traffic management in containerized environments (Istio or similar).
