Job summary

Mercer, a Marsh business, seeks a lead DC consultant to manage a portfolio of defined contribution clients with plans from $25M to $500M. Hybrid role requiring three days in the office weekly and responsibilities spanning plan design, investments, governance, and vendor management.

You will present investment reviews, grow the client base, and leverage Mercer’s advisory and OCIO services while embracing AI-enabled tools to deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of investment advisory/consulting experience for retirement plans.
• Solid understanding of the defined contribution landscape including fiduciary topics, investments, plan design trends, administrative practices, employee engagement and retirement readiness trends.
• Ability to contribute to the development of new ideas and ways to solve client problems and make the team more efficient at the local and zone level.
• A track record of building intellectual capital for business development and client delivery.
• Strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Present plan review/investment review reports to clients for advisory and OCIO engagements.
• Retain and grow a book of business by developing long-term mutually beneficial relationships with clients and decision makers within existing client base; and other Mercer lines of business.
• Thrive and be motivated by an environment that embraces AI and technology-enabled tools.
• Serve as subject matter expert on defined contribution topics and inform clients and prospects about Mercer’s plan design consulting, investments and delegated OCIO services.
• Conduct plan document/SPD, operational and compliance reviews; demonstrate strategic plan design knowledge of DC retirement plans.
• Oversee RFP/RFI marketing process, strategy and transition; present marketing results to client.
• Demonstrate understanding of the defined contribution landscape and anticipate client needs to create a scope of services.
• Ensure timely delivery and accuracy of all client work.
• Ensure compliance and professional standards in all work processes including peer review.
• Cultivate new business through professional networks, events and conferences.
• Participate in sales activity and support other consultants in developing opportunities and strategy.
