Job summary

Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability seeks a DECO Research and Program Manager to advance a cross-disciplinary research program. You will lead coordination among DECO faculty, researchers and external partners, develop budgets, and drive stakeholder engagement to scale solutions.

You will report to the Managing Director and collaborate with multiple departments, contributing to publications and grant activity in a dynamic academic environment.

Qualifications

• PhD in disease ecology or a relevant field.
• Experience with global non-academic partners and multi-partner programs.
• Proficiency with project management tools and practices.
• Experience coordinating with university administrators.
• Strong data analysis, mapping, remote sensing, and synthesis.
• Excellent written and oral communication; Spanish language skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams across departments and external partners to advance DECO projects.
• Design and lead research approaches; manage background research, experiments, and manuscripts.
• Deploy community- and partner-engaged approaches to manage collaborations and produce co-created outcomes.
• Develop new protocols; test and evaluate various approaches.
• Draft research proposals and budgets to expand DECO scope and funding.
• Prepare periodic progress reports on all phases of the program.
• Contribute ideas on methodologies and novel solutions for complex problems.
• Conduct literature reviews and implement new procedures as appropriate.
• Represent DECO in stakeholder meetings and coordinate with leadership.
• Support DECO faculty directors and build strategic partnerships within Stanford.
