Job summary

Rise, Inc. is hiring an Occupational Communications Specialist to support Minnesotans who are Deaf, DeafBlind or Hard of Hearing.

The role includes pre-placement, job placement, training, and long-term employment support with flexible hybrid-remote work within Central Minnesota and the North Metro region. The specialist will travel up to 75% in the community, provide individualized job search help, and work closely with employers to create opportunities while maintaining a 8–10 person caseload

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate in American Sign Language at an advanced level (SLPI Advanced Plus or progress toward this goal).
• Must pass DHS background check (Rule 11) and MVR background check.
• Must have a valid driver's license and travel daily with a personal vehicle; mileage reimbursed.

Responsibilities

• Support persons served to obtain and maintain fulfilling and rewarding competitive jobs.
• Provide individualized job placement services through regular meetings, resumes, cover letters, and interview prep.
• Cultivate competitive job opportunities with local businesses and employers.
• Empower individuals with ongoing support and relationships with employers to succeed in new roles.
• Adapt communication style to match the person served and meet employer expectations.
