Rise is hiring for the Minnesota Employment Center for People who are Deaf, DeafBlind or Hard of Hearing. The Occupational Communication Specialist role supports pre-placement, job placement, training and long-term employment in a hybrid setting in Faribault, MN, with travel up to 75%.

The position is level 1 or 2 depending on qualifications and requires reliable transportation, ASL proficiency, and a background check. Join a mission-driven team focused on growth and impact.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate in American Sign Language at an advanced level.
• Knowledge and understanding of Deaf Culture.
• Valid driver license and ability to travel using personal vehicle.
• Pass Department of Human Services background check (Rule 11).
• Ability to provide virtual support with high-speed internet.

Responsabilités

• Support persons served to obtain and maintain fulfilling jobs.
• Provide individualized job placement services through regular meetings.
• Cultivate competitive job opportunities with local employers.
• Empower individuals through ongoing support and employer relations.
• Adapt communication style to match the person served.
• Train individuals to meet employer expectations and production standards.
• Advocate for accommodations with employers when needed.
• Maintain a caseload of 12-14 people and document services and billing.
