Job summary

VMC Soft Technologies, Inc. is looking for a versatile Multi-Platform DBA with Apple experience to manage Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB across Sunnyvale, CA and Austin, TX in a hybrid environment.

The role emphasizes performance tuning, backup and disaster recovery, security, and on-call support within a tight governance framework. Strong Linux/Unix, Shell scripting or Python skills, and a bachelor’s degree are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of core DBA administration (Oracle 12c/19c), RAC, RMAN/Data Guard.
• Hands-on PostgreSQL configuration, replication, tuning, and connection pooling (PgBouncer).
• MongoDB Replica Sets, sharded clusters, and index management experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, monitor, and maintain Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB environments.
• Monitor performance, run diagnostics, optimize queries, and manage indexing strategies.
• Implement and maintain backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies using RMAN, Data Guard, MongoDB Replica Sets.
• Apply access controls, patching, schema updates, and upgrades in line with governance standards.
• Troubleshoot outages and participate in on-call escalation.
