Job summary

Fund for Public Health in NYC is seeking a Data Scientist to advance public health surveillance for NYC public school students. You will help link data, develop models, and support evaluation of health and educational outcomes under supervision of senior staff.

You will work in the Data Science and Research Unit within the Office of School Health, using SAS, R, Python, STATA, and SQL to analyze administrative health and education data, with a hybrid schedule and occasional travel in NYC.

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience applying statistical/epidemiologic methods to administrative data.
• Strong writing and speaking ability and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary analyst for impact of program access on health and educational outcomes.
• Assist design and implementation of surveillance projects and report findings.
• Contribute to data linkage efforts and data matching for surveillance.
• Provide technical expertise in research design, data management, and modeling.
• Develop causal and predictive models for OSH programs and data systems.
• Other duties to support department goals.
