Dhaka Technologies Limited is seeking a Data Platform Architect for a 12+ month hybrid contract in Jersey City, NJ. This hands-on role requires deep enterprise data platform expertise, cloud migration experience, and leadership across engineering, architecture, and security teams.

The candidate will define target-state architectures, migrate large-scale data environments to the cloud, and drive standards, governance, and performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data platform architecture, data engineering, or distributed systems.
• Strong experience leading enterprise-scale cloud migration initiatives involving hundreds of terabytes or petabytes of data.
• Hands-on expertise with Databricks, Spark, Kafka, and AWS cloud services.
• Experience migrating data from Vertica, Hadoop, Teradata, Oracle, Snowflake, or similar platforms.
• Solid software engineering background with Java, Python, and SQL; knowledge of OO languages.

Responsabilités

• Define target-state architecture for enterprise data platforms and cloud-native analytics solutions.
• Lead migration of large-scale data environments from on-prem to cloud.
• Design scalable, secure data architectures for petabyte-scale workloads.
• Establish architectural standards, governance, and best practices.
• Partner with infra, security, and apps teams to align with cloud strategies.
• Evaluate technologies for storage, processing, streaming, governance, and observability.
• Provide technical leadership for Spark, Kafka, Databricks, and cloud-native services.
• Drive performance, cost management, and operational excellence across the data platform.
• Support executives with migration roadmaps and modernization strategies.
