Job summary

Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA is seeking a Data Manager for the Laboratory of Systems Pharmacology and Program in Therapeutic Science. The role focuses on curating clinical and experimental data, managing storage, and maintaining data-driven websites to support open science.

The candidate will contribute to grant and manuscript writing, train lab members, and present at conferences, working closely with senior staff in a hybrid in-person/remote schedule.

Qualifications

• Two years of post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; Master’s in library/information science a plus.
• Biology and/or information science background is a plus.
• Knowledge of open science, FAIR principles, and data management.
• Attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience in an academic library or biomedical research setting is a plus.
• Knowledge of web development and content management.
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn new skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Curate clinical data elements, biospecimen and experimental metadata.
• Maintain data on institutional and cloud storage resources.
• Develop and manage scientific websites (e.g., graybrcaatlas.org).
• Contribute to grant and manuscript writing.
• Train lab members and participate in scientific conferences.
• Collaborate with senior data manager and director of software engineering.
• Handle day-to-day tasks with sound judgment and team consultation.
