Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Business Information Analyst II in Virginia to analyze business processes, develop reports for claims, provider, and utilization data, and translate results into actionable insights. This role supports collaboration across teams with strong Excel, SQL, and BI skills.

You will publish periodic and ad hoc reports and translate business needs into diagnostic tools, guiding leadership decisions with data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS/BA degree in related field and a minimum of 2 years related operational and/or data analysis experience, experience in database structures, and standard query and reporting tools; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
• Strong experience with Excel.
• SQL experience.
• Ability to manipulate and present large sets of data strongly preferred.
• Power BI and Tableau experience preferred.
• Experience researching data trends preferred.
• Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and problem-solving skills highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures
• Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies
• Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports
• May require taking business issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools
• Interpret complex data sets and extract a meaningful insight that can drive the business decisions.
• Provides analytic consultation to other business areas, leadership or external customers
• Data analysis and reporting encompasses a much higher level of complexity
