Job summary

Pharming is seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms supporting analytics, AI and trusted data across the organization. This individual-contributor role reports to the Head of AI, Data & Analytics and works in a hybrid setup in Warren, NJ with 2-3 in-office days per week.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive experience in data engineering and delivering production data solutions.
• Experience designing scalable data pipelines and data-platform solutions in complex environments.
• Experience in biotech/pharma or other regulated industries is preferred.
• Strong SQL and a general-purpose language (Python) with solid software engineering practices.
• Familiarity with data lakes/warehouses/lakehouse, ETL/ELT, orchestration, APIs, batch/streaming, and cloud-based data services.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code is an advantage.
• Ability to explain technical decisions and collaborate across functions; fluent English required.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and enhance scalable batch and real-time data pipelines and transformations.
• Develop and maintain data models, curated datasets and reusable components for analytics, AI and reporting.
• Translate enterprise architecture into practical engineering implementations with governance and security in mind.
• Collaborate with data owners, architecture, cybersecurity and business stakeholders to ensure secure, governable data solutions.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing, technical documentation and team capability development.
