Job summary

M&T Bank in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, support, and optimize data pipelines, integrations, and analytics solutions for reporting, regulatory compliance, and technology decision‑making across the organization.

The role collaborates with technology leadership, senior engineers, and business partners to translate requirements into scalable data models and dashboards, with emphasis on data quality and performance. Four days onsite per week with one day remote.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python, SQL, Java and related data tooling.
• Strong ability to query and analyze data from relational databases.
• Understanding ETL, data transformation, and data quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.
• Integrate data sources via APIs, databases, and file-based exchanges.
• Gather requirements from business partners and translate into technical solutions.
• Develop data models, data quality controls, and monitoring capabilities.
• Support dashboards and analytics products using enterprise tools.
