Job summary

Superhuman is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Data Platform BU supporting Go. You’ll build production data pipelines, develop datasets for onboarding, activation, engagement, retention and conversion, and partner with Product, Engineering and Data Science to measure impact.

You’ll own projects and datasets with clear scope, ensure data quality, and contribute analyses and dashboards. This hybrid role is based in our San Francisco or Seattle hubs and involves using AI-assisted development

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience building and operating production data pipelines.
• Proficient in SQL and modern cloud data warehouses (Databricks or Snowflake).
• Understand data modeling and warehouse design for reusable tables.
• Test, investigate, and trace data issues to source.
• Experience with workflow orchestration and version control (Databricks Workflows, Airflow, Git).
• Use AI-assisted development tools (Codex, Claude Code, Cursor) and validate code.
• Communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical partners.
• Curious about product usage and data‑driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production data pipelines in Databricks that process product events and user activity.
• Develop datasets for onboarding, activation, engagement, retention, and conversion for consistent metrics.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to define measurements and validate event logging.
• Make data models easy to understand with clear definitions and documentation for self‑service analytics.
• Connect Go usage with customer and account data to assess adoption and growth.
• Keep datasets accurate, up‑to‑date, and reliable with tests and monitoring.
• Improve pipeline performance and manage compute costs.
