Job summary

Event Network is seeking a mid-level Data Engineer to design and maintain data pipelines, integrations, and curated datasets powering AI and BI initiatives at our San Diego or Park City headquarters.

You'll work closely with the Senior Business Analyst, implement CI/CD, Azure DevOps, and robust testing, and ensure secure, scalable production data solutions in a hybrid environment with four onsite days and one remote day per week.

Qualifications

• Approximately 3-5 years of relevant data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL skills with complex queries and performance troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Python and building reusable code for data and APIs.
• Experience building production ETL/ELT pipelines with monitoring and recovery.
• Hands-on Git experience, branches, PRs, and code review practices.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Experience creating automated tests for data and pipeline logic.
• Knowledge of secure configuration, secrets management, and deployment practices.
• Experience preparing governed data for Power BI and semantic models.
• Ability to investigate ambiguous data problems and collaborate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines from various sources.
• Develop data products for Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, and Power BI models.
• Own code hygiene and deployment practices in Azure DevOps.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines across environments.
• Create automated tests for transformation logic and data quality.
• Implement configuration management, secret handling, and auditable releases.
• Create reliable ingestion processes for AI data and metadata.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerts, and production support for pipelines.
• Profile and reconcile data and validate business rules.
• Maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Communicate progress, risks, and blockers clearly to stakeholders.
