Job summary

Event Network, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Data Engineer to develop and support data pipelines, curated datasets, AI models, and BI services. This hands-on role turns business needs into secure, production-ready solutions and partners with a Senior Business Analyst leading AI/BI efforts.

You will help organize work in Azure DevOps, apply Git-based version control, and build automated tests and deployment gates for data solutions, ensuring reliable ingestion and analytics delivery.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of data engineering or related experience.
• Strong SQL skills on SQL Server or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Python for structured data and APIs.
• Experience with production ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Hands-on Git with branches, PRs, and code reviews.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Experience designing automated tests for data and pipelines.
• Knowledge of secure configuration and secrets management.
• Experience preparing governed data for Power BI semantic models.
• Ability to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and support data pipelines from databases, APIs, files, and approved Microsoft 365 sources.
• Develop transformations and curated data products for Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, Power BI models, analytics, and AI apps.
• Own code and deployment hygiene in Azure DevOps with proper branching and PR practices.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines across development, test, and production environments.
• Build automated tests for data transformation, schema, and quality; integrate into PR and deployment workflows.
• Implement configuration management, environment settings, secrets handling, and auditable releases.
• Create ingestion and retrieval processes for AI use, including metadata and telemetry.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerts, retries, and production support procedures.
• Profile and reconcile data, validate rules, and prevent incomplete loads from appearing successful.
• Maintain documentation, mappings, deployment instructions, runbooks, and change histories.
• Communicate progress, risks, and blockers clearly to technical and business partners.
