Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced Data Engineer / Backend Developer for our Federal Strategic Cyber program in Arlington, VA. The role is hybrid with on-site needs and requires U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

You will design and maintain ETL pipelines, craft Python data transforms, and implement containerization using OpenShift/Kubernetes while integrating CI/CD across the SDLC and ensuring security best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5+ years of related technical experience.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Bash, Python, etc.).
• Proven experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Strong understanding of containerization principles (Docker, Podman).
• Experience interfacing with clients and technical staff to ensure service quality.
• U.S. Citizenship is required; active Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines.
• Develop transform scripts in Python to standardize data schemas.
• Implement and manage containerization strategies using OpenShift/Kubernetes.
• Integrate CI/CD pipelines into the software development lifecycle.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and availability.
