Job summary

Akraya, Inc. is seeking a data-focused analytics engineer for a Mountain View, CA-based W2 contract. You will transform data challenges into actionable solutions, design data models, prototype data solutions, and drive data initiatives from concept to production-ready state.

Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders, translating requirements, and partnering with engineering teams to ensure scalable data solutions. 9+ month contract with hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or an adjacent data role.
• Experience designing data models and schemas for analytical use.
• Hands-on Databricks and advanced SQL, able to profile unfamiliar tables and validate grain and joins independently; Git and Python a plus.
• Fluency using AI tools for research and building, and strong cross-team partnerships.
• Experience in Analytics Engineering or Data Engineering, particularly supporting large-scale data initiatives and enterprise data solutions.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to uncover underlying business problems and data requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear technical specifications and maintain a backlog.
• Design robust data schemas and solutions adhering to trusted data standards.
• Develop and validate proofs of concept using real data.
• Partner with data owners and engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous requests into clear requirements.
• Experience designing data models for analytical purposes.
• Proficiency in AI tools for research and development.
