Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska is seeking a hands-on engineering leader to drive enterprise data integration delivery, API-first solutions, and AI-powered development practices. This role blends technical depth with people leadership, focuses on Azure-based ecosystems, and supports platform modernization and operational excellence in a hybrid Omaha-based environment.

You'll own SLO/SLA for data delivery, collaborate across business, analytics, and product teams, and mentor teams while

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred)
Strong hands-on experience with Azure data services (ADF, Databricks, ADLS, Synapse, etc.)
Deep understanding of API frameworks (REST, API Management, microservices, event-driven architecture)
Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and modern engineering toolchains; Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and techniques

Responsibilities

Own Enterprise Data Integration Delivery: design and delivery of scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and related services.
Engineer API-First Solutions: lead development and governance of enterprise API frameworks (REST, event-driven, microservices, APIM).
Advance AI-Driven Development Practices: promote AI tools to improve developer productivity and code generation.
Enable Platform Modernization: support transition from legacy integration patterns to modern Azure-based architectures.
Ensure Operational Excellence: own SLO/SLA for data delivery, API performance, monitoring, and incident response.
