Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska is seeking a hands-on Engineering Leader to drive data integration and API-first delivery. You will oversee scalable pipelines in Azure, govern API frameworks, and champion AI-powered development to boost delivery speed and quality.

The role emphasizes collaboration with business, analytics, and product teams, with a flexible remote option and a two-days-per-week in-office expectation in Omaha.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems; Master’s preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Azure data services (ADF, Databricks, ADLS, Synapse).
• Deep understanding of API frameworks (REST, API Management, microservices).
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices and modern engineering toolchains.

Responsibilities

• Own Enterprise Data Integration Delivery across domains.
• Oversee design and delivery of scalable data pipelines in Azure.
• Lead API-first development and governance for enterprise APIs.
• Advance AI-driven development practices to improve productivity and quality.
• Ensure operational excellence with monitoring and incident resolution.
• Collaborate with business, analytics, and product teams to align strategy.
