Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Mechanical Start-Up and Commissioning Specialist to lead start‑up and commissioning for data center projects in a collaborative, global engineering environment. The role focuses on energization, commissioning, and inspection of HVAC and mechanical utilities, supporting hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise facilities.

You will develop and execute start‑up strategies, coordinate with OEM technicians and construction teams, and apply deep knowledge of cooling systems to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of Start-Up and Commissioning experience in data center or mission-critical facilities.
• Understanding of data center mechanical systems and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop start-up and commissioning plans and execution strategies.
• Develop system Start‑Up and Commissioning Plans for all mechanical systems.
• Generate and execute Start‑Up and Commissioning documents.
• Startup of mechanical equipment safely and effectively.
• Facilitate meetings for the start‑up team and maintain action logs.
• Maintain engineering change control logs and provide technical input.
• Coordinate with OEM service technicians as needed and with construction management.
