Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Mechanical Start-Up and Commissioning Specialist to join our team working with clients in the Data Center Industry. You will develop start‑up plans, create commissioning documentation, and execute plans for mechanical and utility systems at hyperscale data centers and colocation facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent years of experience.
• 5+ years of Start‑Up and Commissioning experience in data center or mission‑critical facilities.
• Understanding of data center mechanical systems and cooling requirements.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel to client locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Start‑Up and Commissioning Plan and execution strategies.
• Assist with system Start‑Up and Commissioning Plans for all mechanical systems.
• Assist with generating Start‑Up and Commissioning documents per industry best practices.
• Start up of mechanical equipment safely and effectively.
• Facilitate meetings for the start‑up team.
• Maintain action item lists and change control logs.
• Provide technical input and coordination with OEM service technicians.
• Coordinate with construction management as needed.
• Apply HVAC, chilled water systems, pumps, and BAS knowledge to support clients.
