Job summary

System Soft Technologies in Lansing, MI seeks a senior security/compliance professional with 5+ years in public sector frameworks to lead risk and DR planning. Candidates should be versed in NIST CSF/800-53 and state IT security standards. The role is hybrid with no remote work; onsite from day one, two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday).

Interviews are in-person in Lansing, MI. A 1-year assignment with potential extension is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with knowledge of security and compliance frameworks relevant to public sector environments, such as NIST CSF, NIST 800 53, and state IT security standards.
• 5+ years of experience and proficiency in tools used to support security documentation, compliance tracking, and workflow management (e.g., Azure DevOps, GRC platforms).
• 5+ years of experience contributing to development, documentation, and testing of Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs) for critical systems.
• 5+ years of experience in assisting in defining recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs).
• Previous government or military experience is preferred.
• A bachelor's degree in information security, cybersecurity, information systems, public administration, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and test DRPs for critical systems.
• Define recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs).
• Assist in documenting and testing security compliance across public sector environments.
• Support security documentation, compliance tracking, and workflow management using established tools.
