State of Washington’s Department of Children, Youth, and Families seeks a CPS/FAR Social Service Supervisor 5 (SSS5) in Spokane North. The hybrid role supervises staff, guides casework, and supports family-centered practices to protect children’s safety.

You will mentor Social Service Specialists, oversee training, and ensure quality in case documents and court reports. This leadership position requires extensive experience in social services and knowledge of Washington State child welfare

Qualifikationen

• Eight (8) years of paid social service experience.
• 30 semester or 45 quarter credits in a Social Services discipline.
• Master’s degree requirement with 30 credits OR three years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 30 credits OR four years of related experience.
• One year as SSS4; two years as SSS3.

Aufgaben

• Supervise and mentor a unit of Social Service Specialists and complete child welfare casework.
• Manage staff training plans and transition to field work.
• Perform quality assurance on documentation, assessments, and payments initiation.
• Ensure proper case activity documentation in the case file and FAMLINK system.
• Provide coaching, counseling, and on‑the‑job training to staff.
• Prepare written staff performance evaluations using the Performance Evaluation system.
• Consult with administrators on corrective actions and policy adherence.
• Train staff to gather accurate information and make case decisions.
