Job summary

Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP is seeking a Counsel, Commercial Contracts to advise across procurement contracting, review and negotiate a high volume of agreements, including services, confidentiality, SaaS, licenses, events, HR/benefits, technical, and AI-related contracts. The role requires a Juris Doctor and active license, 5–7 years of contract counseling, and a collaborative, results-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and review a wide variety of commercial and technical contracts.
• Partner across the firm to streamline procurement and contracting processes and build stakeholder relationships.
• Ensure contract intake is complete and business-ready for legal review.
• Support Procurement with SLAs, training, playbooks, and practical legal guidance.
• Serve as trusted advisor on supplier contracts, risk management, terms, and disputes.
• Escalate complex legal and risk matters to appropriate firm counsel.
• Develop and maintain supplier contracting policies, standards, and compliance practices.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and recommend proactive updates.
• Help develop and maintain firm-wide supplier contract templates.
• Support contracting training and knowledge-sharing across the firm.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
