Job summary

Parametrix is seeking a Cost Estimator to join our Advisory Services team. You will contribute to a multi-discipline engineering effort, developing conceptual and detailed estimates for infrastructure and public utilities projects, including water/wastewater, transit, and transportation sectors.

The role emphasizes market research, quantity takeoffs, and client collaboration across multiple projects, with a hybrid work arrangement and opportunities for mentorship and client interactions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction management and/or engineering, with a focus on cost estimating.
• 2+ years of experience preparing cost estimates through design phases of the project life cycle.
• Exposure to multiple estimating software such as RS Means Online, Blue Beam, Timberline, and HCSS.
• Knowledge of Life Cycle Cost (LCC) estimates to compare long-term economic trade-offs.
• Knowledge of CSI MasterFormat and UniFormat classifications.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a multi-discipline engineering team as a cost estimator.
• Support the Parametrix team in development of conceptual and detailed engineering and construction estimates.
• Conduct quantity and material takeoffs.
• Build the Basis of Cost Estimate based on feedback from users, owners, and the engineering teams.
• Conduct market research to understand cost drivers for material and labor.
• Establish relationships with clients by participating in workshops and presenting defensible data to guide team decisions.
• Collaborate with multiple team members and clients across projects to ensure successful execution.
