Job summary

Hachette Book Group is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to support the Finance team in daily and monthly accounting duties related to inventory. The role includes supervising three staff accountants and partnering with IT on system enhancements.

The ideal candidate has experience in cost accounting, Oracle Cloud, and ERP implementations, plus strong analytical and communication skills to drive process improvements and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• BA in Accounting with 3-5 years of related experience.
• Experience in cost accounting specifically.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Application and ERP implementation.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze and create all related accounting with respect to Inventory Assets (WIP, Paper, etc.).
• Responsible for the accuracy of inventory including valuation and quantity.
• Examine and authorize payment of production invoices.
• Prepare month-end reports and analyses.
• Participate in inventory-related and special projects as needed.
• Collaborate with IT to enhance current systems.
• Assist with quarterly audits.
• Manage a team of staff accountants.
