Job summary

GATX Corporation is seeking a safety risk management and compliance professional to support the Rail North America network. The role focuses on proactive safety risk reduction through cross-functional collaboration, RCMS alignment, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include safety program leadership, injury management, and on-site EHS support across facilities. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in safety within production or corporate environments, experience delivering safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Operations or related field or associate’s degree with equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production or corporate environment with safety responsibility and demonstrated results.
• Rail or railcar maintenance experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to execute assigned projects or tasks independently.
• Proven experience delivering safety training.
• Familiarity with US/Canada safety regulations and workers compensation procedures.
• RCMS, SafeStart or ETQ experience is a plus.
• Union experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive day-to-day safety program with metrics, SWI development, compliance tasks and corrective actions.
• Lead injury management, incident investigations and corrective actions across the network.
• Provide on-site support for EHS audits, projects, initiatives, training and resource onboarding.
• Maintain and improve GATX safety programs, policies and training content.
• Evaluate site adherence to GATX programs and analyze data for proactive risk management opportunities.
